"60% of the jobs that will be out there tomorrow, don't exist today"- Catapult Incubator 135 days ago, members of Alpha Kappa Psi tried something new, different and exciting. The first Social Media Bootcamp presented a new chapter in data analysis and the benefits of harnessing the many platforms out there! Because of its success and positive feedback from the first workshop, the second installment of the Social Media Bootcamp took rise this past Friday, March 18th in the School of Communications! 12 members of AKPsi came into the Social Media Analytics and Command Center (SMACC) to learn about the data tracking platform -- NUVI -- that shows the benefits of learning how to interpret data on a larger scale. Some of the monitors included: - Hyatt - State Farm - Donald Trump - Ameren The power of data tracking sites is in the eye of the beholder and up to the imagination of the one harnessing it. Anything from monitoring your brand, competition, current issues in your industry, and location of data, to Customer Relationship Management (CRM), or determining the success or failure of a marketing campaign is possible. It doesn't matter if your a business, art, or nursing major, being able to interpret data shows critical thinking skills that are necessary for the world of tomorrow. Members of AKPsi were able to get a small taste of what just one platform can do and with only 1 of 3 SMACC labs accessible to students around the U.S. -- who wouldn't want to take advantage of this opportunity! As Alpha Kappa Psi's relationship with the School of Communication continues to grow and develop, we can't wait to see where the Social Media Bootcamp takes us this Fall! Until then, check out some of the highlights below!
