![]() On October 5th, Illinois State had one of their biggest football games of the season: Homecoming. While many of us were having fun tailgating and enjoying the game some of the brothers volunteered at the concession stand. At the concession stand, we were guided by our stand manager. She left us in charge of serving popcorn, pretzels, nachos, candy, hot dogs, pop, Gatorade, and water. The brothers had a lot fun with this. We each took turns making the different food items and taking orders. This was a fun time for some of the active members to bond with the new pledge brothers too. The crowd kept us pretty busy and loved all of our energy. We had a tip jar at each end of our stand. As soon as someone would tip us the cashier would yell, “We got a tip” and everyone else would scream "Whooh Hooh!" The fans loved it. Some came back more then once and left tips just to hear us cheer. Some fans even cheered with us. Even though the concession stand can be a lot of work, we used all of our positive energy and had a great time working the stand. It was definitely a fundraiser everyone should consider doing.
