The BUSKI scholarship aims to acknowledge a senior year student in our chapter who consistently embodies our core values: brotherhood, unity, service, knowledge, and integrity. When awarding this honor, we assess how the recipient not only lives out these values but also contributes to our chapter's growth, both in any leadership roles they may hold and in their everyday actions beyond our business fraternity.

Potential recipients aren't just leaders within Alpha Kappa Psi; they also demonstrate the ability to apply the lessons learned within our chapter to other contexts, be it an internship, job, or involvement in other campus organizations. The BUSKI scholarship creates an opportunity for our chapter to express gratitude and recognize individuals who have played a crucial role in building, enhancing, and leaving a lasting impact on our organization.

Rylee Bobo is a Senior Psychology major at Illinois State University and is the Fourth Recipient of the BUSKI Scholarship. She was initiated into our fraternity as a part of the Alpha Zeta pledge class in Spring 2024, the class responsible for co-founding Fresher Days, where they were able to donate $1,300 to Mid Central Community Action. Rylee has consistently shown what it means to live the values of Brotherhood, Unity, Service, Knowledge, and Integrity through her leadership positions in and outside of chapter. 

During her time in Alpha Kappa Psi, Rylee has been a mentor to freshman psychology major Jennah Kittana of the Alpha Eta pledge class, teaching her the soft skills needed for both the business and psychology world and supporting her through the process of becoming a brother. Beyond this role, she has been a leader for new members as both a professional and a brother, consistently serving as someone new members can rely on for guidance, encouragement, and accountability. 

Rylee first served as Academic Chair, where she built foundational academic systems and support structures for the chapter. Recognizing the growing need for academic leadership, she transformed the role into Vice President of Academic Affairs, establishing a new executive position that will benefit brothers for years to come. Now, she is beginning her term as Pledge Activities Coordinator and is excited to give back to the future of our chapter by shaping meaningful, supportive, and values-driven experiences for incoming pledge classes. 

As a general member, regardless of any position, Rylee has been dedicated to showing up for her brothers in various ways, such as attending events, offering academic and personal support, and being a consistent presence in chapter life. She remains active in chapter decisions and has been someone who shares innovative ideas to help grow and strengthen the future of our chapter. 

Outside of our chapter, Rylee has made a significant impact on campus as a Group Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer at Illinois State Campus Recreation, Teaching Assistant, Peer Mentor, and Research Assistant for the Psychology Department. Her outreach spans academic, professional, and wellness communities, and she has become a trusted mentor for students navigating transitions, stress, and personal growth. Her dedication to excellence was recognized at the university level when she was named a Robert G. Bone Scholar, the highest undergraduate honor at Illinois State University. 

Rylee’s commitment to leadership, mentorship, and service is evident in everything she does. She was awarded the BUSKI Scholarship because she shows our chapter what it means to live our values every day, both in and outside of Alpha Kappa Psi.
