  • Yes! If you can not make it to an event, we encourage you to inform us so we have an understanding for why you were not in attendance. Attending as many rush events as possible allows our brothers to get a better understanding of who you are and why you would like to join Alpha Kappa Psi.

  • Yes. You are able to rush Alpha Kappa Psi if you are also apart of a social fraternity or sorority.

  • A bid is an invitation to you from our brothers to join pledgeship for Alpha Kappa Psi. Pledgeship is a 8 week long process where you will learn about the history of Alpha Kappa Psi, get to know our brothers more in depth, and professionally develop alongside your pledge brothers!

  • Yes! If you do not receive a bid, we encourage you to try rushing again next semester. We recommend you reach out to us for feedback from your interview to see how you can better your chances at receiving a bid next time.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Rush is the process by which students engage in professional and social settings for the purpose of getting to know chapter members as well as for chapter members to get to know potential new Brothers.

  • To be eligible to rush, you must have a minimum of a 2.8 cumulative GPA as well as a minimum of three semesters remaining before graduation (current semester counts).

  • Yes! Alpha Kappa Psi is open all to majors on campus (We’re one of the only business fraternities at Illinois State University open to all majors).

  • Prepare a resume to bring to your rush interview if you do not already have one made. If you need help with your resume, we recommend following the Illinois State University’s career services guide or go visit them in the Bone Student Center for in person guidance. We also recommend familiarizing yourself with who we are at the Xi-Psi chapter and why you want to join Alpha Kappa Psi. Be aware of the dress codes for each rush event and follow them to the best of your ability. We do not require you to follow the dress codes exactly as we are aware that some students may not have access to specific attire.
